I think every lecture should be recorded. In my statistics class, I often need to hear an explanation two or three times before I understand it. Being able to pause and replay the lecture at home has really improved my grades.

I see the benefits, but I've noticed that when a class is recorded, attendance drops a lot. The professor ends up talking to a half-empty room, and class discussions become much less interesting for the students who do show up.
