No. Children that age compare themselves to others all the time, and social media makes it much worse. They also don't have the experience to recognize strangers who want to take advantage of them.

I think a total ban isn't realistic. Kids will find a way to use these apps anyway. It's better if parents set them up together with their children and teach them how to use them safely.
