Dr. Hassan
In many countries, children begin learning a second language in their first years of primary school. In other places, foreign language classes do not start until secondary school, when students are around twelve. Some people believe that the earlier children start, the better. Others think it is more effective to wait. When do you think children should begin learning a second language at school, and why?

Sofia
I think they should start as early as possible. Young children aren't afraid of making mistakes, and they copy sounds very naturally. My little brother started English at six, and his pronunciation is much better than mine.

Kenji
I'm not sure early is always better. Young children only have a couple of hours a week of the new language, and older students can learn grammar and vocabulary much faster because they understand how language works.
