Some cities have closed their downtown areas to private cars, allowing only pedestrians, bicycles, and public transportation. Supporters say this reduces pollution and makes city centers more pleasant. Opponents say it hurts local businesses and makes life harder for people who depend on cars. Should cities ban cars from their downtown areas? Why or why not?

I support the idea. When my hometown closed its main street to cars, it became much quieter, and more people started walking and shopping there. The air also felt a lot cleaner.

I disagree. My grandparents can't walk long distances, and the bus doesn't go near their home. A car ban would make it almost impossible for them to visit the city center. Not everyone can simply switch to a bike.
