Traffic and air pollution are growing problems in many cities. One solution some cities have tried is making buses and trains completely free for everyone. Supporters say free public transportation encourages people to leave their cars at home. Critics argue that the money would be better spent on improving the service itself. What do you think? Should cities make public transportation free? Why or why not?
Aisha
I think it's a great idea. My hometown tried free buses for a year, and traffic downtown got noticeably lighter. It also helped people with low incomes get to work and school without worrying about the cost.

I disagree. In my city, the buses only come once an hour, so even if they were free, I still wouldn't take them. I'd rather pay for a ticket if it meant more frequent and reliable service.
