The shuttle runs between the main campus and the science site every twenty minutes from 7.40 to 18.40. There is no service between 12.00 and 13.00. This is not a break for the driver; it is when the vehicle is refuelled and cleaned, and moving it later would put it in the middle of the afternoon teaching block, which is worse. The last bus of the day leaves the science site at 18.40 and does not return. Anyone still on the science site after that should use the city bus from Hallam Road, which runs until eleven and stops two minutes from the main gate. In ice or heavy snow the shuttle is suspended entirely rather than delayed, and a message goes out on the transport page by seven in the morning.
