LANE SWIMMING - PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GET IN
Three lanes are set aside for lane swimming at every session. They are marked at the shallow end. Lane one is for slow swimming and for anyone who needs to stop at the wall. Lane two is for steady lengths. Lane three is for fast swimming only, and the lifeguard will ask you to move if you are holding people up. Swim on the right of your lane in both directions. Do not stop in the middle of a length; if you need a rest, go to the wall and stand in the corner. Lane three is closed to the public on Wednesday evenings, when the club trains. Choose your lane honestly. Most of the collisions we see are caused by swimmers in the wrong lane, not by swimmers going too fast.
22. What does the notice suggest about the cause of accidents in the lanes?
